Vanessa Rodriguez is a Permit Technician and Supervising Technical Assistant to the Construction Official for the City of Jersey City, where she leads a team of 12 Technical Assistants, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant processing of construction permits. With a strong commitment to professional development and regulatory excellence, Vanessa is also a New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA)-approved instructor at Brookdale Community College, where she teaches the Technical Assistant course. Additionally, she serves as a Continuing Education instructor in partnership with Rutgers University, contributing to the ongoing education of professionals in the construction code field.
Beyond her instructional roles, Vanessa is the Secretary of the National Chapter of Women In Code Enforcement and Development (WICED), where she actively advocates for the advancement of women in construction, code enforcement, and related industries. Dedicated to furthering her expertise, she is pursuing a degree focused on the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and aspires to become a licensed Construction Official in New Jersey.
