Alvaro Nuñez serves as the City Manager of Santa Ana, CA, where he is also a long-time resident. Unanimously appointed after serving as City Manager, Mr. Nuñez brings over 30 years of dedicated service to the city, having joined in 1993.
His career within Santa Ana includes leadership roles in the Planning and Building Agency and the City Manager’s Office. He possesses extensive knowledge of municipal operations and a proven track record of leading teams to implement holistic programs, enhance quality of life, and achieve complex City Council goals. Recognized for his deep understanding of the community and commitment, his past service includes roles as President of the Santa Ana Management Association (SAMA), a statewide board member for the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO), and a board member for the Latino Youth Leadership Institute.
Mr. Nuñez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UC Irvine and completed coursework for a Master’s Degree at CSU Long Beach.
